Hip-Hop’s Only Multi-Day Festival Announces Exciting Developments For 2010, Details New Showcases
A3C is excited to announce their sixth annual Hip-Hop Festival. The three-day two-night event will kick off Thursday, October 7, ending Saturday, October 9th. The event will be centered around legendary music complex The Masquerade on North Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia, and will feature headline performances from artists including Erik Sermon and DJ Scratch, Camp Lo, Rhymefest, and more, including a number of A-list artists still to be announced.
Building upon the success of the festival last year and in years prior, A3C will use the 2010 festival to provide their first ever outdoor showcase – creating a block-party experience for festival goers – while also providing a centralized location that will allow for the expansion of the festival’s educational component, including equipment demonstrations and panel discussions. 2009 Panels included discussions of “Women In Hip-Hop,” as well as a lecture from Professor Griff of Public Enemy, and 2010 looks to boast much of the same in education and entertainment.
The Masquerade music complex will enable these improvements, while providing great access to a number of venues within walking distance as well as increased overall festival capacity across multiple stages and venues. “The multi-level Masquerade not only offers three, perfect-sized listening rooms for various A3C day and evening content,” explains A3C Festival founder Brian Knott, “but also has a vast outdoor concert lawn for which A3C has planned a number of events to capitalize on Atlanta’s amazing fall weather.”
Most recently, A3C has announced two new showcases curated by 2dopeboyz.com and Quality Control Marketing. The Quality Control showcase, hosted by Lyrics Born, will take place Friday, October 8th and feature Bay Area artists Mistah FAB, The Jacka, Crowne Royale (Buff1 and DJ Rhettmatic), Erk Tha Jerk, DaVinci, Moe Green, Truthlive, J. Pinder, and Illmaculate. The 2dopeboyz.com showcase will be on the festival’s final day, Saturday, October 9th and feature headliner CunninLynguists along with performances from 1982 (Statik Selektah and Termanology), Reks, PackFM, Sha Stimuli, Playboy Tre, Lessondary, Hollyweerd, Sean Faylon, Aleon Craft, Soul Khan, and Torae. 2dopeboyz.com co-founder, Meka, will provide additional music for the showcase.
As October 7th approaches, exciting new developments will be announced regularly, including information on showcases, panels, workshops, and artist updates. For more information, or to become involved with A3C as an artist, partner, sponsor, or volunteer, please visit http://www.A3C.com.
