MTV announced today that Gnarls Barkley has been nominated for 3 Video
Music Awards for ‘Crazy’: Best Group Video, Best Direction and Best
Editing.
Directed by Robert Hales, the video is a psychedelic
play on Rorschach Tests, and is considered to be one of the most
innovate music videos embraced by MTV in years.
The single for
‘Crazy’ held the #1 spot in the UK for 9 consecutive weeks before being
deleted by the band, and currently has a radio audience of over 90
million in the U.S. alone.
Gnarls is set to appear on Late Night with David Letterman on August 14th and will be performing at Lollapalooza on August 5th.
Returning
this week from the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, the band will be doing
a slew of North American dates this month including Minneapolis,
Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Philly and Atlantic City.
