North Carolina emcee Kam Moye has been nominated in this week’s contest for MTV’u’s The Freshman 5 for his first video “Let’s Be Honest” off his latest album Splitting Image.
Every week, five new and upcoming artists are presented an opportunity to gain regular rotation on the MTVu channel, which is exclusively broadcasted to college campuses and gives artists an excellent shot at obtaining exposure.
The video showcases Kam Moye’s down to earth sensibilities filled with scenes of Kam rhyming on the park bench and out shopping with his girl, a refreshing take for a video contrasting the decadence that is so prevalent in today’s hip-hop videos. The video was directed by Matt Koza of HOJ Media. Matt has also worked with numerous artists such as Foreign Exchange, rapper Big Pooh, and Cymarshall Law.
Fans are encouraged to vote as many times as they like starting at 11am until the cutoff – 2pm EST on Friday. Music fans can vote for Kam on the MTVu website here: http://www.mtvu.com/category/
