. .cause in the food chain, the strong eat the weaker. . that’s how we feed the jungle. . .
This time, he’s back with a vengeance. One Be Lo aka OneManyArmy has returned with his second solo release, aptly named R.E.B.I.R.T.H (Real Emcees Bring Intelligent Rhymes to Hip-Hop).
Throughout R.E.B.I.R.T.H., One Be Lo cleverly intertwines infamous soundbites featuring the likes of Richard Pryor to Mr. T, into his production. The result is an album interlaced with subtle jabs at his unnamed enemies, in which One proclaims his me against he world mentality. I’m lost on the real message he’s trying to convey with the album because I’m distracted by the pretense. The album comes off like a mixtape with most of tracks blending together in the movie clip/rhyme formula. House Rules and Gray are standout tracks among them.
His career already filled with remarkable milestones including distinction as the only MC member of the World Famous Massive Monkee’s, winners of the 2004 B-Boy World Championships, OneManyArmy has now added businessman, releasing his latest effort through his own Subterraneous Records and Integral Music Group. Yet, as impressive as One’s resume may be, R.E.B.I.R.T.H. remains a bitter pill to swallow.
