About Par-City
Par-City is a well-respected rap group native to the Bronx, NY. Willy Dope, Anti, and GiF the Great collectively bring Hip-Hop back to its birthplace. Though the group has been rapping together as a pastime since 2003, they officially established the group and their career in fall of 2009.
The group’s name is derived from taking the word “rap” and “flippin” it backwards to their own, “Par.” Having multiple technical abilities, they have all used their individual strengths to write,
record, mix and self-promote their work over the past couple of years.
Though they are far from gangster rappers, their blend of different personalities has been compared to
D-Block, Dipset and A Tribe Called Quest. Their compatibility has been compared to the synchronization of Method Man and Redman – ‘when you hear one’s vocals, you eagerly wait to hear the contrast of the others.’
Par-City has opened for many rap legends such as Slick Rick & Ice-T, as well as current artists like Mickey Factz and Big Sean. They have toured at major universities such as NYU & University at Albany. The group has received major press from The Source Magazine, VIBE, OnSmash, Nahright & more. Their video “Get it Hot/Sponsor (Remix)” was picked up by and held number one for five consecutive weeks by VideoCity and was premiered on MTV’s Sucker Free Sundays. Par-City was chosen to participate in Undrcrwn’s Spring 2010 Collection, and most recently for Def Jam’s RapStar game promotions. Their most recent album, Fueled By Revenge EP, contains some of their internet smashes, including “Motivation,” the video was directed by the infamous Mills Miller.
Other notable accomplishments include landing a spot in the Top 20 in a National College Radio Campaign, RapAttackLives, and #1 in top 5 underground artists’ songs.
