Run-DMC emerged on the scene with the boom box classic single “Sucker MCs” in 1983 and never looked back, becoming the first hip-hop act to go gold and truly cross over with tracks like “Walk This Way.” Rev Run’s first solo record, Distortion, will be released on September 13 on RSMG (Russell Simmons Music Group). The album’s first single is “Mind On The Road” and also features “Home Sweet Home,” a tribute to fallen partner Jam Master Jay. Says Run: “Jay was the kind of dude who would give you his last dime. I was determined to create a song that would enrich the man’s legacy.” Look for Run to star later this fall in Run’s House, a reality show, on MTV.
