Florida’s Rod Wave has been busy opening up his own lane and details some of the struggles of that journey on “Tru Story” off of his Hunger Games 3 release. One of the highlights of the Gloden Tae produced track is when Rod speaks on the truth behind the difference between what some rappers portray versus what they live.
Fuck yo favorite rapper, He ain’t gansta as he seems
I done met a lotta rappers, they don’t live the life they say they live
They don’t do the things they say they did
The following line really stands out though,
Jeezy told us trap or die but told his son to go to college
What’s really real about that is that it looks between the lines and behind the music. For all that a lot of these gangsta and thug rappers tell the audience on record, a lot of them raise their children a different way. Wave seems to understand the wisdom in watching what people actually do, instead of what they say they do.
