Shoot, Send, Win
November 19, 2007 On December 4th Def Jam artist and Wu Tang Clan heavyweight Ghostface Killah will be releasing his seventh solo album titled The Big Doe Rehab. To help promote Ghost’s latest masterpiece Ghostface will be taking over critically acclaimed blog/destination site Brooklyn Bodega ( www.brooklynbodega.com).
Brooklyn Bodega and RSG (the marketing agency of parent company The Room Service Group) are also using the Ghostface campaign to roll out a new service that will revolutionize Online, New Media and Grassroots Marketing. The new service entitled “Shoot, Send, Win'”is brilliant in its simplicity. Customers use their camera phones to take picture of unique ‘tags.’ The tags can be logos, photos or any image. The tags can be physical or digital. In this case the tags will be part of the online banner advertising for Big Doe Rehab. The tags are embedded with a unique code invisible to the naked eye. Once the image from the customers’ phone is sent via picture mail to a dedicated email address the customer is instantly entered into a contest. In this case, the Ghostface “Shoot, Send, Win” contest consists of four small to mid size prizes and a grand prize of an iPod Touch.
The entrant also receives a customized reply message that can be tailored to the specific marketing campaign. Reply can be text, visuals, a bar code, an mp3 and more. Entrants to the Big Doe Rehab contest will receive a jpeg of Ghostface and a different classic Ghost rhyme each week.

“We have been in the New Media marketing business essentially since the beginning. In the early 2000’s it was interesting and creative. Now everyone with a laptop and a high speed connection is in the game. We have been working on developing new relationships and new programs that will use new media in a logical yet revolutionary way. Not just email blasts to the same 100 websites,” says Room Service Group President Wes Jackson. “This new program “Shoot, Send, Win” is going to be great for The Big Doe Rehab.”
The contest will run for four weeks on various sites including www.brooklynbodega.com, www.ghostface.com , and Ghostface MySpace page – www.myspace.com/ghostface as well as several participating websites.
The takeover will run from November 19th through December 21st and will feature a combination of unique content:
-Bodega columnist Spaulding Forsythe who writes the popular PAIRS sneaker fiend column will be joining Ghostface at the Big Doe Rehab facility. Spaulding will be trying to overcome his sneaker addiction while Ghostface learns better spending habits. Each week Spaulding will report back to the Bodega via his personal journal.
-Bodega columnists will be reporting back with reviews of the Hip-Hop Live Tour featuring Ghostface, Rakim, and Brother Ali as they travel from San Francisco to New York.
-The Bodega editorial staff will be reviewing old Ghost albums, feature guest editorials from the best and brightest in the industry, post classic Ghost video content, as well as serialize an in depth interview with the man of the hour.
The takeover goes live on November 19th at www.brooklynbodega.com/takeover
