New York, NY: Stic.Man, one half of political hip-hop duo Dead Prez adds his hard-hitting style to a remix of Matt and Kim’s Green Label Sound single “Daylight.” Stic.Man is a perfect choice as a remixer given Matt and Kim’s love for hip-hop and their long-standing tradition of covering of Dead Prez’ “It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop” during their live shows.
“I was so excited when I heard Stic.Man from Dead Prez was going to do a remix for ‘Daylight.’ ‘It’s Bigger Than Hip Hop’ is one of the only covers Kim and I have done, and we’ve played it at most of our shows for the past year. Having a connection come back to us makes it feel as though things have come… well maybe not full circle, but semi-circle for sure. Then, hearing the Lord Warddd Remix, and watching Kim shake her ass to it in the kitchen… it just seemed tooooo right,” said Matt of Matt and Kim.
