DOWNLOAD: YONAS – Radio Flow
As the April 25th release date approaches for for YONAS‘ official debut The Proven Theory, he continues to let loose with new songs and videos for fans. Last week, YONAS sat down with KarmaloopTV to give fans a look into the album, and now he’s giving fans another taste of the album with the anthemic “Radio Flow,” a track that leaves no doubt as to how or why he’s been honored by the likes of Billboard and the Independent Music Awards for his songwriting prowess.
From the jump on “Radio Flow” producer Sean Divine makes his presence known, with a mix of striking keys and a heavy bass line lending itself to YONAS’ intense rhymes and ultra-infectious chorus. “Recording this hook was probably the most fun I’ve had recording a hook — and I’ve recorded damn near one hundred hooks in just this past year,” says the Bronx rapper. And it is the catchiness of the song and the hook, mixed with an unrelenting flow and deft lyrics that help truly drive home one of the key messages of the song. “Music can be appealing commercially, without losing it’s integrity and wit,” explains YONAS, “and this embodies that ideology to the fullest.” From start to finish YONAS powers through the track with fluid lyrical precision and boastful proclamations, as he raps, “I’m coming from New York, but I’m good in every city/ So go on sing along if you people are ridin’ with me/ Let the radio speak.”
